My service area is small town rural. I would say 50% of the skunks I trap are trap shy. I work with people that can not get the skunk to go into the trap. In most cases I ask if they had gotten any skunks before and in most cases the answer is yes, but I can't get this one. Guess who came home!

Commercial paste of one kind or another plus fruit loops. I too like positive sets when everything seems good for it.

2 oreo cookies + Jameson's grub stake skunk bait ... a combo not attractive to cats. I bought the cheap store brand oreos so you can eat more of them yourself. Cheap trappers like positive sets with no bait are better because they don't spend $ on bait/lure - fence crawl under, funnel around shed, deck porch etc. When you catch a female skunk save the trap don't clean it. Sometimes a white paper bag is a good sight draw when you might need one. Instead of two Oreos can I use one double sstuffed
