Paul Winkelmann OP trapper P Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,361 mequon, wisconsin	The new LED lights are so much cheaper on your electric bill and in the cool white or daylight version, they are much better than the old soft whites ( Which were actually yellow ) So I took out another mortgage on the house and went out and bought enough for every light fixture in the place. ( Boy, are those LED bulbs expensive! ) Now here comes the dumb part: I'm reading about how long these LED bulbs last when I realize that they all have a longer life expectancy than I do.

Vinke trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 8,341 NWWA/AZ	I went with compact florescent that are full spectrum,,,, They give the same vitamin d source as the sun and can help with depression in "wives",,,,,,,, cheaper and about the same energy savings a LED They have new models that are "fast" start......... I do have some LEDs as I am starting to instal solar on the Arizona and CA houses,,,,I am using them because my panels are all off grid 12 volt, not 110........ In the two years I have used them in arizona I have seen a reduction in energy bills.... I am also using a "smart" water heater,,,,,,(The hybrid/heat pump will not pay for it self) the unit learns when you use water and save about 200-250 per year,,,,this will pay for itself in 3 years and I bought the extended warranty from lows making it a 15 year unit Slightly used Shoes 4 sale……………

I've cut my electric bill to the point where my $17 dollar base fee is spread out so little that each kWh comes out to 22.5 cents each. Those quarters add up quickly! I've also figured out that electricity is now 6x more expensive than natural gas per btu. www.upstatepestandwildlife.com

X2 tried them in poultry houses, I am not a twisty fan. I may try some LED's though. The florescents just didn't last.

In the bathroom, over the tub, inside a closed, flush ceiling fixture, which the early ones say not to do. Too many spares that will likely outlast me, to go for the LED's. They do take forever to warm up outside, especially in the cold. Every kid needs a Dog and a Curmudgeon. Remember Bowe Bergdahl, the traitor. Beware!
