It's not like I warned them but you idiot Georgia NWCOs who refused to organize and wanted to keep on flying under the radar are about to get the big green weenie and I'm looking for the exit. I'm done if what I believe to be coming happens and I'm done fighting for you worthless pieces of excrement, deal with it.

Eric, this one is right up your alley. Our Bat Working Group within the DNR met on the 16th, also present was the state DOT with the idea of regulating how bats are removed from structures. There was evidently little to no attempt to notify the NWCO community. I know I did not receive an email nor did any I'm in contact with. Micheal Pope of AnimalFree did as he has posted his copy to FB. And evidently my former employer did or got wind of it as two of his employees were the only NWCOS there. His operations manager was selected to sit on the committee. This individual is the worst person to possibly speak for us as he is a known con artist who uses the worst of scare tactics to sell jobs.
When contacted, Trina of the group, replied don't worry we'll tell you what we decide.

LOL, don't you just love it.

We had a biologist try to pass a rule in Ohio that bat work could only be done in September and October. Luckily, our DNR put a stop to it shortly after it was submitted.

The only thing in our favor is the DNR is basically powerless unless the legislature has passed some form of enacting legislation. No fees or licenses except by act of the legislature.
I say I won't get involved but I will do my due diligence for my own sake.

warrior, DOT stands for Department of Transportation, right? What were they doing at bat meeting?

I can only guess but I know that had a major interstate exchange held up in North ga for an environmental impact study due to bats found in a tree near the site. Also you might as well call them NWCOS since they do all their own beaver.

Paul,

I'm sure it was because of the ESA listing of the long-eared bat. A lot of states on the east coast will be having meetings like due to concerns with how they will be doing maintenance and construction of new roadways and bridges. I'm sure Justin will chime in here as he is familiar with DOTs and their relationship with bats.

I bet I know exactly how they catch beaver too. It's a three man crew, the youngest guy sets traps, while the older two guys lean on

shovels! How come the DNR doesn't have to file an environmental impact statement when the release large predators on unsuspecting

wildlife?

Wink, ya got it all wrong. The guys leaning on shovels are supervising. Around here, the usual ratio is 6 "supervisors" to 1 worker.
