which one do u prefur? and why? i use plastic covers but i see alota guys usin polyfill or somethin to that sort. how bout in freezin ground? i would think that the polyfill would allow the trap to freeze more, but i dont know thats why im askin.

They say the poly is water pruf, I use it and have for about 5 years and wont go back to a pan cover!!

polyfill is what they use to stuff pillows or quilts or something, you get it at walmart back there in the craft area, looks like a pillow in a plastic bag, only its the innards, stuff is dirt cheap, 2.50 bag last for about 10 years..lol

use table salt..the wetter the dirt, the more you use.

we just had 4 inches of nothing but ice, and lows in the single digits for 3 days, and my traps were still working. of coursem i had to remove the ice first, but the trap bed dirt was not frozen

pollyfill and salt.

I have been using polyfil for several years but this year I have been using nothing under or over the pan, just sifting peat moss over the trap and then a little local dirt. The pan goes down just fine in the peat.

thanks alot guys. i will have to go get some and see what happens. im havin the same problem with benson, freezin hard but i think i will get some salt and fix that problem. thanks alot again

poly fill works good and i dont think it will absorb odors very easily but i would still be careful and keep it clean i think its properties of being under the pan as opposed to over the pan helps imo

Polyfill is awsome. I will never go back to using screen or wax paper pan covers.
