Called five root buyers in western pa. Best price quoted was 550 a pound. Should I sell now or is it going to get any better?

Dry. you will never see that kind of price on wet seng, unless you listen to the idiots on the tv shows.

Green root on ebay is trending around $700 a GREEN lb for select root. If you are willing to jump through CITES, selling direct o Korea is even more $$$$$$$

If you are serious about marketing your roots for top dollar, consider online sales, there are legal implications, just do your homework.

Green from the average run of the mill buyer in here is about $260.

You mean. 700 green, you bet. Wake up and smell the Ginseng. You don't have any idea what it would take to be legal on ebay. On top of that, I would love to see the phone number of any buyer willing to pay 500 a green pound on Ginseng. I have been in the Ginseng business for 40 years or so and for some reason I never get that kind of an offer.
They can ask all they want on ebay, isn't any promise of getting that much. The USFWS watches ebay very close for illegal sales of Ginseng.

Ebay puts you directly in touch with the end user, it cuts out all the middle men.

WI has a very straightforward certification system, each auction gets certified by the warden and signed off by them.

You've never got those kind of offers because you don't "mess" with green 'seng on Ebay.

I've watched all our local buyer's lament over online sales, because it forces their prices up into the records they are at.

And competition is good for everyone.
