I watched the pros clean our air ducts. They used a good sized bit, drilled through the duct, and when the ducts were all sucked out,

they had the proper sized rubber plug for the hole. I thought that some day this might be some useful info. If you drilled the hole

and added some air freshener or the like, would that be a feasible solution?

thanks for the help paul, the home owner decided to have that section of duct replaced by the heat/air company...would there be a deoderiser that could be sprayed into a specific spot to get rid of the slight skunk odor

There are a number of products that neutralize the smell rather than covering it up with a stronger smell.

I got a gallon of Oder Gone. It does work, but does smell like chemicals a little. Says it works on clothes in the wash and also it can be sprayed into an A.C. intake.

There is a brochure here:
http://www.crittercatchersinc.com/Attic_Restoration/Hydroxyl_Generator.html

Xactamate is the software that insurance companies use to estimate damage.

Does the women have kids? Could be the kid has some good weed stashed in the air duct. That could explain a light skunk smell.
