can somebody give me the story on slick pans? Are they newhouse? worth more or less? rarer or not? I think I may have a #1 slick pan, did they make them in #1s?

yes newhouse put out traps with slick pan,,,slick pan simply means the pan is blank and no wording was ever on the pan,,they are on the earlier traps and therefor harder to find and do sell for higher prices,,if you would post a good clear picture of the pan on your trap and a view of the entire trap some one will tell u if u have a slick pan and also the aproximate value,,,some times due to rust and deterioration the wording on a pan is no longer visible,,,these are not considered slick pans,,,

The early P.S. & W. #1's also had slick pans and the early Sargent traps had an almost slick pan with just a number in a small circle up by the pan shank, also check your spring, if it is a Newhouse, there should be spring stamping, if it is readable.

Check the bottom of the base for any letters. Pan post looks very early too. Could be a Newhouse or Hart "slickpan". Just my opinion..... Dale

I sure don't see any letters or stamping anywhere.

The pan post, swivel, and the narrow spring necks all say Peck and Stowe to me.
