I have been doing ADC work for 2 years now ! This is my biggest job yet! Not a lot of pictures as I was trying to beat the heat! Bats were literally landing o
n the metal roof and claiming under the ridge , gaining access to the attic! Had to seal 4 different ridges , both sides on every one. Used a roof cushion((This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) pad) inched my way out to the very end and then worked back to center! Tried repelling and that was to much back tracking! Hot metal roof ! Very pointy ridge cap makes for a very sore bum! Screened a bunch of louvres from an 80 ft boom lift! We needed a 120 footer but it is only available for a week at a time ! 12 grand, church wasn't paying for that so we had to skip a couple if chimneys! I could not believe the bats were able to climb up that metal, that is a steep roof ! Needless to say i will be re evaluating my valve installs ! Very old Catholic Church these bats are gonna put a lot of pressure on this building i have never seen such a massive colony! When doing my inspection they were flying all over the attic, which i also thought was pretty unusual! You learn new things every day in this job though!

Thanks guys, i have been reading on here for a few months , but every problem i encounter there is already a thread! So I was just wanting to post something! I am just going to appologize in advance for any technology or grammatical errors i make, there is a reason i stopped going to college and got into ADC work! Any other guys use sheet metal attached to the end of your exclusion valves , in which you can not create a steep enough angle (ie soffit roof interfaces ) this makes me totally rethink that concept!

The tube. Just keep the end of the tube in the air. It works like an inverse minnow trap.

So just a couple inches off the roof? Or do you have a certain angle that is more effective?

I use 3 inch or 4 inch stove pipe. 1/4 inch hardware cloth at the opening, sometimes, on low slopes, I add enough pipe to get to the roof edge.
