Nice work on the moose. Got back Wednesday from New Mexico. Called in a stud bull to Lon. He killed it at 7 yds. In wyoming with the kid now. Called in 3 bulls the first day. All small five by fives. Had a good one in tonight screaming 40 yds but not shot I am to opportunity. I am to dumb to post a picture or I would send you one of Lonnie's bull. In the wall tent having a cocktail before we are at it again in am.

Moose & grayling ... Alaska surf & turf. Looks like a great hunt. What's the size of the oven tent, four guys take up a bit of room

Yes we share our harvest with the hunting party. Being single, I cannot eat a whole moose in a year so I end up sharing with a couple older neighbors and friends with most of my bounty. I usually shoot little bulls and when ya get a big one like this, there is about 2/3 more meat than on a little spike fork bull. We are lucky enough to live in a country where our hooved animals will feed a couple families or maybe unlucky if you have to pack it far.

Brian, that is the 12'X 12' Arctic Oven with vestibule. It's huge, you're not going to have a barn dance in it with 4 guys but send me 4 women and I'd try. There is plenty of room even with 4 military cots and the wood stove.

Nice looking season there JR! Great looking camp and company from the looks of it. I'll have to call you this week now that you're back.

12" x 12' is a nice size. I think I need to check the AO out.

I need a good setup for some researchers and our film crew this winter and have been pondering how best to keep folks warm. As my location would remain the same all winter maybe a wood floor and AO would do the trick. Worth looking into

I'm off Sunday with the Kifaru tipi for a week long wilderness elk hunt. Not an AO but it does have that trick little wood stove, and their is Birch!

Just a quick check in an update. The river isn't close to froze so I haven't been out on the line. Picked up a new sled this year for the mountains. 2015 Tundra LT with the 600 Ace. Got a few mods to do to her to get her ready for the trapline but will be fun. She is definately as tippy as people say they are. Got my shipment of wolves back from Moyle's this week too. Been a expensive week.

Hopefully be able to get out and lay down some steel pretty quick, kinda going crazy here. I guy can only build so many #9's before he's got to take some in the field and put them to work. Be safe and have fun this season.

Man I like that seat cover. I bought a Polaris Voyager red hood would not look cool like that.

Rugger.. Everything is for sale. Only got the one black last year. The light colored one is the female I caught minutes before I busted up my face on the ice. She is beautiful.

Muskrat.. Team V on here covered my seat for me with some ballistic material I had on hand. Just did it to protect the seat a little more and does look good too. I have a bad habit of tearing my seats climbing over them with my boots and gaiters ripping my seat covers. Cannot wait to see how your Voyager preforms. I'm hoping this Tundra is a Skidoo and not a Skidon't like my other Scandic Skidid.

Think if you had skidoo front ski skins (like those on the SWT's) it might allievate some of that tippyness-- just put them on my LT last week

It's not the floatation, the bow is usually high and dry with the new skis with skins, the long keel seems to catch edges on lightly frozen overflow and ice. When you catch and edge on an all ready top-heavy machine, it gets a bit sketchy. On the trail and in the powder, they are awesome and double tough. The skins are on back order from Delta. I just happen to have a extra pair here for the WT that will go on the Tundra tonight.

AK - it's always fun when you're sliding sideways on glare ice waiting to catch an edge. I love that seat cover, I can't seem to help ripping them. For years I wore the seats out on all my sleds kneeling on them but these new style of machines have a way better sitting stance. One more week and I will be laying some #9's.

I have wide ski skins on mine. They provide good floatation but don't expect them to make the machine any less tippy. It is a capable machine but it gives a full body workout trying to keep it upright when breaking trail grin My machine has been reliable and the worst problem I have had is breaking off the cheap plastic reverse lever twice. Pulling heavy loads like you sometimes do the machine will need a clutch rebuild at about 5000 miles. In 7000-8000 mile range the front pogos will break off the tube that holds them together. It will happen sooner if you ride it hard. Some extra welding and bracing at the points where the pogos attach to the tube that connects them would cure this. Mine haven't broken yet but I am expecting it this season. These machines do not take a side load on the frame or front skis well. Don't let it slide down a hill sideways and impact anything it will fold the front aluminum frame pieces. The tundra LT is the worst side hill machine there is. It won't side hill it just slowly descends and will roll if you aren't completely hanging to the uphill side of the machine and have at least 200lbs of counter weight in your shorts laugh I like my Tundra LT with the ACE and would get another but these are some things I have noticed. Thanks for sharing all the great pics and good luck trapping this year.
