How do you all attach your trap tags. I have some small copper tags with a single hole. I like how some of you guys have em roled up, how do you do that? or is the best way to just wire them on?

thanks

Wilson

I roll mine as well. Basically, place the end of the tag with the empty space, letters facing you, on the chain then just roll tag around the chain link.

I have been stamping my own tags with a stamping kit from harbor frieght and some 1/2" wide X 1/4" thick aluminum flatstock cut it to length with bolt cutters, drill one hole in it, and wire it to the chain at the last swivel.

I just wrap them around a chain link. Check them every year to make sure they are still well attatched.

I hate hog rings.... Just do!

I use a piece of #17 black steel wire, bent in a "U" which goes around a link of the trap chain and the trap tag is put on the wire.

Put about three twists in each one, holding the anchored-end with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Clip off the excess wire.

Then wrap the tag around the chain & wire, with the ID facing outward.

Coyotes and Coons chew on them but seldom ever get them off completely.
