I'm on an prescription that has been gradually been increasing and I can't say I'm happy with that. Wondering if anyone else has had success with any other products or over the counter stuff.

Clonezapam .. Not sure on the spelling

I take 1mg every night for sleep issues, but would love to wean myself off of ANY prescription drugs,,

Cutting back my caffeine intake to only (1) 8oz cup of coffee in the morning has helped greatly, (also helps with long-range shooting steadiness)

Recently when I took 2-weeks off for vacation, I tried to quit taking it, but still found myself jumping awake after only 3-4 hours of sleep

What are you taking now ?

Whatsamatta boy? Don't you like clowns ?

I'm on the generic version of that (Ropinerole) 1-1.5mg nightly. Like you would love to get off it. My wife HATES that it doesn't seem to work so well some days.

Have you tried magnesium? Natural Calm by Natural Vitality is a good brand but there are others. Quit coffee cold if you aren't drinking organic coffee.

Organic coffee? I've never heard a connection to organic...what does it (not)have that impacts us?
I used to take magnesium before I went on the meds...Never had much of an impact and when I talked to the neurologist they flat out laughed at me that Magnesium had no impact on restless leg. Haven't tried it since. Hmmm.

Thanks,
HJ

I have drank organic coffee and doesn't lock my back up tight like conventional coffee. I know that conventional coffee has a lot of toxic pesticides used on it. Some magnesium doesn't absorb like Natural Calm. Try to find a naturally oriented health care professional that doesn't laugh at natural remedies. Natural health care professionals are becoming slightly easier to find then they were 20 years ago. Ever once in a while I go to a chiropractor neurologist in Harrisonburg,VA. There are only 3 chiropractor neurologists in the state of Virginia. His name is Jonathan Claar, D.C. Energy drinks give me restless leg syndrome- I don't drink them anymore.

I don't have any financial connections to organic coffee- I just know it's a whole different animal from conventional coffee.

My wife is on Ropinerole at about the same MG you are on. Another thing that she takes is Gabapentin. She takes 300 MG tablet and is supposed to take 3 capsules 3 times a day.
I also have it but nothing like she had it. I will take a couple capsules when my legs get nuts and it usually helps them within 10 minutes.
My wife had it so bad that she could not stand to sit down at times. travel was really a bad thing for her. If she had a bout of the restless legs while we was driving, we just had to stop for the poor old woman to get out and stretch her legs so they would calm down.
She had restless leg in a terrible way. It would keep her awake at night or wake her up in the middle of the night.
She now has it almost completely controlled.

Get a bar of Ivory soap and put it down under the sheet or under your legs. whatever is in that sopa will seem to stop it. my father uses it when his legs get to acting up. hes 83.

I don't have any Ivory or I'd give it a shot.

I know a few people who have this, and they swear by a tiny bit of THC before bed and it is a non issue. They claim if they have any alcohol it makes the restless leg much worse.

I have also heard that Schwepps tonic water works well, but I have only heard that. I know people who use THC and provides them with instant relief.

I know there are many here who still have "reefer madness syndrome" but don't want to start that debate.

Been on Ropinerole 3mg for 7 yrs now.

Sometimes I forgot to take it.

Sometimes it doesn't bother me. Sometimes it doesn't.

RLS does suck.

I remember before I went to the doctors for it.

Me and the old lady didn't get much sleep!

I was hopping all over the bed.

The pills do help.

Brad
