Got a call the 1st of the week. Some guy had a coon in his car.
Arrived & was told it was under the dash on the drivers side. When I checked I saw 2 raccoon. Grabbed them by hand & threw them out in the clients yard, job completed I thought. Took another look & coon number 3 was still under the dash. Grabbed this one & picked up my check.
Received a call the next morning. Another coon in the same car. Car was locked in the garage with windows up. Looked & finally found the coon under the dash, but couldn't get to him. Worked for 2 hr taking the dash apart. Couldn't reach it, but could poke the critter & got it to move. Thought it exited the van, but couldn't see it do so from where was. Replaced the dash. Placed a cage trap in the garage, just in case & asked the client if she could leave the window down, just in case the coon was still in the van.
The next morning I received another call. Coon had been in the garage, didn't get in the trap & was somewhere in the van or in the garage. Checked under the dash, nothing. Checked under the seats, nothing. Checked out the garage, nothing. Raised the garage door & opened the back gate on the van. There the raccoon was, just sitting there. It didn't even put up much of a struggle when I grabbed it & put it in a cage. Guess Mr Coon was just as glad to be out of there as I was to finally get the job done.
Havn't got any call from these nice people yet today. Hope I don't.

sounds just like another day, could have added on a couple of extra's & did an oil change or tire rotate while you were there

I always looked forward to vehicle extractions ( I've done a bunch ) but now that I read your story, maybe not so much.

Easy way to get them out of hiding is turn the car on crank up the heat and leave a back window cracked. This way you have less of a chance the raccoon grabbing ahold of the wires under the dash. My best was with a jeep opened the back door blocked it off with comstocks cranked the heat done in about 5min.
