A club that I belong to gave the ok to a new member to purchase snake repellant and put around the old cabin to keep rattlers away.

Does that stuff really work?

Also this guy is on the whacko side cause he saw a rattler next to the wood pile.

Jeepers if we see 2 or 3 rattlers near camp in 5 years that's a lot.

Seriously! LOL

Whats this world coming to?

Read the label very carefully. Most of that stuff is very bad to even have around.

Heck I don't even know if the member that's supposed to buy it can read. The club shouldn't let guys like that have they're way.

If I was at the meeting I would've voted against getting it.

Makes the person feel good..... but doesn't seem to bother the snakes at all. Did a snake call recently for a lady (who is deathly afraid of ANY snake) and she had used it around her front porch slab and steps. I'm not talking scattered, I'm talking 5 large containers dumped around all sides, 3 inches deep for 4 feet out from the porch. Yep, she's nuts. Upon arriving for the inspection, I found solid snake "trails" through the thick granules. They were crawling right through it with no problem. Porch was separated from the house about 1.5", creating a perfect cavity for mice and chippers. Inspected with the See-Snake camera, and the whole cavity was full of acorns, walnuts, and hickory nuts (shells), and smelled like a rodent cage that hadn't been cleaned for a month. If snakes have discovered a good hunting area or place to den up, they are not going to be chased away by using the magic granules. Like most wildlife repellents, the primary goal is to transfer money from a wallet or purse to the manufacturer. A bit of slick advertising aimed at folks who are scared to death of something always works.

Well it certainly didn't work when they put it around the White House several years ago.

Okay Dave, I admit it, I voted for Carter: Dumbest president we ever had, until now!

I bought some in a weak moment this summer and caught a black snake in my duck's nest within a week of putting it out around the pen perimeter, plus I suspected snakes were getting eggs right after I applied it-- so I will not buy anymore.
