Hello guys and gals, got my Macbook up and running. What a pain in the rear, but here goes. Went out in January and set a little line. Took my buddy Kevin with me just too babysit me and make sure all went well with my scrawny rearend. Spent a little time cutting trail and felt good over all just a little weak.

Been seeing a lot of caribou and moose along the trail.

Picked up a few sheds and Kevin picked up his first caribou shed

Lots of overflow this year and very little snow.

Pretty good wolf sign but not seeing much coyote sign this year. Snowshoe hare population seems to be on the rise.

It was just great to be out there and very healing in it's self. Ended up picking a 88# gray male wolf in a #9 pee post at the end of the line

picked 3 red fox on the first check, which is what I usually catch all season. One was in a #9 on Pee Post Pass due to setting the pan tension light to deal with this freezing and thawing BS that we've been getting. The other was in a cat cubby in a covered #3 DLS

Thanks you Mr. Allan Minear for the Chokecherry syrup, went well with some beer pancakes and bacon
Pee Post Pass #1 #9
Pee Post Pass #2 #9

This is where I caught and lost a black wolf in #2 #9 on Pee Post Pass on the first check
Lots of overflow this year. This is good overflow when I take pictures of it. The bad stuff, I usually don't take pics of and am running for my life from it.

Pretty big pressure ridge out on the creek below the cabin

The second check went quite a bit better than the 1st. #2 wolf waiting for me on Pee Post Pass in the same spot I caught the red fox.

94# gray male
On up the line to the bait. I'm pulling gear as I go due to the warm weather. The wolves had hit the bait the first week and hadn't been back till now.
That is #3, 4, and 5. 93# black male
86# gray female 98# gray male. Was feeling pretty strong even with the pack down the hill.
On up to wolverine creek and lucky enough to pick up #6. 82# gray male in snare. All looked to be quick efficient kills. Thanks to HFT for the snares last year that he sent up. 2 of the wolves were hung in HFT's snares.

17# scrawny

Coyote in MB750 catch all set

Your welcome JR if we get a good crop of chokecherry this year we may make some home made syrup.
It's good to see wolf catch pictures those two on the ridge need to be framed.
Allan
