lol somebody is blowing smoke. maybe a 45 pounder but 145 is bigger than a lot of mountain lions... bobcats don't have the skeletal structure to carry three digits

. Actually saw an adult man with salmon that big in Homer AK. But then the guy was a little (Dwarf) person. King that tipped the scale at 47lbs. The guy refused to get on the scale without the fish but I think he was somewhere between 80lbs and mid 90s. TOPS!! Could have passed as a regular on: "Are You Smarter Than a 5TH Grader. smile

Of all the places to catch a big cat about my last guess would be Hanover Virginia. You might as well be in Richmond.

I would be embarrassed to even post your title of a 145 pound bobcat.

Saw the pic last year and then again it was goin around the other day. Absolutely amazing what people believe. I'm only about an hour from Hanover, and I know a guy that killed a 56 pounder. I don't know how big they get in other parts of the country but besides the 56 lb one I've seen, I haven't even seen a 40 pounder.

I can promise you boys 2 things. That cat is of course no where near 145 pounds and it sure wasn't caught anywhere near Virginia. I can promise you both of those cause I caught it. I swear I wouldn't have ever put that thing on the net if I new all this was gonna happen. In a year that cat has been killed, trapped, called in and I think even run over in every state in the country! LOL

I've seen many in the high 30s and couple over 40. Last I knew the MN state record was 62lb, held by a guy up by greenbush.

That pic is the smallest 145lb cat I've ever seen. I say more like 45lb. Maybe if he held it up like everyone else (by the back feet) we could get a better view of it.

Well LT you're a fine snare man but your field judging is lacking! LOL You missed that one by about 65 pounds but I appreciate the compliment:) That's some other good info I didn't know my 30$ camera had a wide angle lens? I took that pic cause he was the biggest cat I have personally ever caught and I wanted to take a pic of it. I shared it with a some friends on facebook and kyhunting and it was all down here from there. At one point it was killed in ohio which you of all people know you don't even have a season! So next call I get is from ohio DNR half way interrogating me. Had calls from Ky fish and wildlife wanting to come see it and verify that it was in fact 62 pounds. I politely told them to save their (or my) gas money and told them it was no where near that number either. That cat has been around the country and back!

O.k. Kytrapsetter how big was it? Did you weigh it? Great big monster cat! Good going, and I say nice picture too...it is obvious your elbows are resting on your legs so it is clear you aren't holding it out at arms length like "a fish picture". I would agree the camera angle doesn't probably hurt the cause, but especially if your taking selfies with a timer you don't always know what you have til you can see on a full size screen.

In over 35 years of trapping cats in northern MN I have taken my share of large male bobcats. Large adult males here seem to top out in the upper 30 pound range. I have caught 2 that tipped the scale just over 40 pounds. Both very old very fat battle scarred old males.
I hear stories of cats over 50 but I doubt that I will ever see one.
