Probably Fedex. A couple weeks ago I sent a letter through USPS overnight delivery. Took 4 days to get there.

Just doing my part to nudge it into retirement and a new one started.... \:\)

If you aren't in Anchorage or Fairbanks, forget USPS, FedEx, or UPS delivering on time like advertised. It just isn't going to happen.

I once tried to order second day air into Wrangell for a Chirstmas gift. I thought "hey, we have jet service here, it can make it." OH, NO. By the tracking, it was flown to Anchorage, then to Juneau, and was "delivered." What really happend was it was then put on a ferry that went Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and then Bellingham, WA. It didn't make it to Wrangell until on the return trip from Bellingham. Total delivery time, two weeks. UPS did refund my money for the delivery, though.

Yep and the thing that really chaps my cheeks is these companies who act as though shipping to Alaska is like shipping to Bangladesh. And charge additional postage on top of the regular rates. So many of them won't mail anything because their inventory is actually at UPS or Fedex warehouse someplace. Heck Fedex in McGrath comes through the post office but the jerks in the states won't put it into the post office on their end. Can you tell it ticks me off?

White I have a GREAT UPS story. Last year for Christmas I ordered Jazz a pair of Boise headphones. THey sent them UPS and they were delivered to the wrong village. When I called the company they just sent out another pair no questions asked, and I never even asked them too. Well BOTH pairs eventually arrived. I call the company to ask how to send back the second pair. They said just send it UPS and gave me their company account number. I tried to explain that there is not a UPS store in Mekoryuk and they did not understand. SO they said ok send it Fed Ex. I said well I will do that but you will have to pay my 800 plane ticket to the nearest Fed Ex store. They didn't think it was funny and said OH JUST SEND IT UPS, i said ok well that will be a 308 plane ticket.

After being on the phone with them for over 30 minutes I finally said I am going to send it USPS postage COD. So that is what I did, I never asked for them to send me the second set so I was not going to pay postage back to them. Well I boxed it up and sent it to them. three weeks later it is returned, PACKAGE REFUSED. So i kept the package refused label and kept them \:\)

Here's a true story> Years ago we could put our phone service "on vacation" status while we went trapping. Half the monthly rate. Service was out of BET.

I called and gave the gal an effective date to switch it. OK no problem. 10 minutes later she called back to ask what my phone number was.

So, if I shipped a nice Walnut or Cherry Fox call in a USPS Flat rate box from NY to Alaska, it could take up to 2 WEEKS to get to the person, depending on where they live ??

I had a 220 get stolen today. It was set for otter, and I followed the guys tracks about atleast a mile back to his house. Tomorrow I am going to go and knock on his door and ask for trap back. I caught a couple otter there before and its a great spot. I would like to trap there still but not if he is going to take my trap for me again. Do you guys have much problems with people messing with your sets? What would you guys do if this happens to you. Thanks.

Ryan

I can order a dozen 650's or 550RC's from the US and they are delivered within 5 days to me here in Western Australia.
Method of postage==USPS cost $135 US .
A letter or parcel from our east coast usually takes longer to get here.

Dogmusher> Don't mess with the guy,. Call the troops, file a complaint, and have them take care of it. That should make him understand the point better than you trying to get your trap. In the meantime, buy another trap and file a mark on it that you will recognize. Heck take a picture of it for later. If he takes that one too, call the troops again.

Alan: I have had Priority mail take 10 days from Anchorage. There's scheduled air service everyday but sometimes mail sits in a corner for some reason.
