Only reason I watched ax men was because of him, and I fast forward through the rest of the show. I told my wife if they would make a show about him, I'd watch it. Some relatives of mine know him personally through log buying, and he's twice as crazy as the show makes him look. He used to be in alot of trouble for drug trafficking, but took up logging and it has kept him out of trouble so far.

Its a good show, and this is probably the only show that has been edited down to make him look more normal!

Better have your insurance paid up if you're going to run with Shelby. Can't help but watch it, it's great. They showed the film crew other day, bet he keeps them on their toes.

Haha. I watched 10 minutes of so and thought, "I bet some folks are having trouble understanding him." Not me though. Is that bad? Haha

I watched last night. Some of the stuff looks like it's scripted by the network. I like him on ax man better.

I don't think Shelby is the type of guy that needs made up drama by the producers. He creates his own through his own everyday exploits. That guy has cracked me up since his first appearance in season 3 of axe men. The ONLY reason I still watch that show. Now that he has his own show, I can take axe men off the dvr list.

He bought a dang pirate ship! LOL

I think Shelby and his action are crazy entertaining. I also think that the producers of the show will set things up that will make it easier for them to film, kinda like they do for the other ax men crews. The trip to the gator farm last night and leaving the gate open seemed set up to me.

I think he's better left to do his own thing.

I saw a piece on "Ax Men" where he was in a boat at night spotlighting large alligator gar and a girl was on top of his boat shooting at them with a high powered rifle. On the way home,he jumped into the water trying to catch an alligator barehanded to take home, but missed the alligator, also. To my knowledge, these were both illegal activities in Louisiana and I am sure that is why they did not take anything home that night, though nothing was mentioned or noted to that effect. All of these "Swamp People" type of Louisiana television productions are entirely scripted by the producers for ratings and advertisement money and in no way do they actually portray the real life of legal, ethical sportsmen in Louisiana. Though,I am sure that LDWF has specially permitted some of these activities seen on some of these shows,I am certain that other activities that are portrayed as normal are very much ethically and legally questionable,to say the least and they give all sportsmen in Louisiana a black eye and do much to negate the positive initiatives and activities that are done everyday by LDWF and all Louisiana sportsmen. Good Luck

Yeah, any man that is able to buy all the equipment he now owns, and rebuilding his business after losing it in a hurricane, MUST be stupid.

I don't think the man is dumb.He does what he wants, the way he wants. If he doesn't break any laws and pays his ways trough life, it's nobody's business. And it's fun to watch.

I hope he doesn't kill anybody with his wrecklessness though.
