You guys who trap coon in the big corn fields , what do you look for? Would coon stay in the field and use little clumps of trees way out in the middle, or tree lines that split fields? Appreciate any advice from you guys who have miles of corn fields around.

Don't forget coon don't need trees....I believe the prefer them but they will den in the ground, rock piles, brush piles etc....

They will travel a long ways for a good cornfield...its amazing in the fall to shine a treeline and see tons of eyes...shine those same tries once the corn is gone and lucky to see one...just depends on the area and what's available etc...

Best bet is try to find the sign....and maybe shine tree lines at night and try to get an idea of where they are hitting hard...not hard to walk a cornfield and find the coon damage areas...

I hit all the tree lines and if there is a clump of trees in'n the field it will be a hot spot for coons and every thing else.

coon sign, big trees, cottonwoods, maples, anything big enough for a hollowed out den inside.

They also use telephone poles and big trees and makers, often if not always, you find a trail right next to a big tree on corn fields

Any ditches, big or small will be travel corridors. Set multiple traps on sign, they'll be traveling in groups!

Do you guys hit the corn while still standing? Will it produce after being cut?

They will be good all season long. Coons will still hit those fields in the spring.

PVC and dirt hole sets work great in fields!
