Sometimes I use cornmeal mix, it had flour in it. I cooked some fillets the other day that I soaked in hot sauce first then medaled them and fried, man they were good! Trick is don't put em in grease under about 325 degrees or so, maybe 350!

the great thing about floured fish is eating the leftovers cold on a sandwitch with cheese and mayo..bit of salt

cornmeal fish is better hot

I like the meal, I raise a couple rows of hickory cane and grind it up every year. That's the good stuff, I save it back for frying fish and makin hush puppy's

Dip filets in milk and egg mix. Shake well in a bag of equal parts flour, cornmeal and Italian bread crumbs. Spice as desired. Deep fry and enjoy!

Just an egg wash then into corn starch, bread crumbs, and parmesan with some old bay. When you use corn starch it stays crispy.

I have a recipe I bet you would have never thought of.... take a large (any fish)filet. put on plate with 3 pads of butter on it, add as much old bay as you can stand, then place in Microwave for 6 minutes! done..... dead serious, makes me laugh everytime! and it's better for ya than fried anything! we do it with rockfish all the time and love it! I add some salt and pepper too.... but not much, the ol'bay will cover the spice's needed! try it one time, just for fun and see what I'm talk'n about.....I like it plain, on a sandwich, or with corn on the cobb, rice too.....

for a guy cookin his own dinner it's the hot lick!

Between Michigan and Ohio , fish were mostly fried with flour .
Never cared for corn meal on my fish.
Beer batter fish is the best to me.
I have eaten fish made with corn meal and even cracker or bread crumbs.
But would rather have flour , so that I can taste the fish.
Nothing worse to me than having fish that 3/4 the thickness is bread crumbs or corn meal.
