The second time I met wheelers he took and hid my survey ribbons(for marking my marten sets)Who would have thought that big, quiet, innocent looking guy would have done that. Then he let me blame 2poor and I gusto'd 2poor's motel door handle. So, I think I owe him a shot or two. Grubstake, he did the same to me but it might have been my neighbors who were the road apples.

I see we've brought O.P. out of hiding. As far as wheelers being champ, well, I have to give him that. I still believe it's his lure. Just like a car wreck and people have to look, critters smell his lure and have to go see what on earth could possibly smell so bad. I bet if I would have used it on 2poor's motel door he'd be missing a hand and I might not be around. I wonder if we will still smell wheelers sets when we go this year as the feds might have them marked of as toxic waste sites.

A lot of MN Cats, Fisher and Marten have found new homes because of the effectivness of Magnum Marten.

Wheelers, I think 160user sort of reminds me of that environmentalist who ate bark, roots, leaves, weeds, etc, what was his name Merlin Gibbons or something like that. He died real young. All you light weights like 160user and Tim Bauer need a diet like me and old Wheelers have, you know, lots of mashed taters and gravy, home made bread, steak, roast, ice cream. Makes me hungry, think I'll go get a bowl of ice cream and then take a nap. AHHHH, the retired life.

I eat so much that it makes me skinny to carry it all around. There is nothing that curbs your appetite faster than a 5 gallon bucket of gravy that was made by the lowest bidder and then sent to you cold on a fire.

160USER, every now and then the Red Cross brings us out meals when we have bad structure fires, now those folks know how to make a healthy sandwhich with the trimmings.

Once in a blue moon we will get the red cross on a fire. Generally, the fires are very remote and they bring in caterers that get paid by the plate. It has to have XXX calories but taste is optional. I got sick last year from "bucket" food and the infection that I ended up with is transmitted oral-fecally. That is what you get provided by the lowest bidder.

Euell Gibbons. Here is his story. He was a Wild Edible Plants Expert, Author of Stalking the Wild Asparagus, Stalking the Healthful Herbs, and Stalking the Blue-eyed Scallop. He pitched Post Grape Nuts cereal using hickory nuts and pine trees. He died on December 29, 1975. He was 64. Euell died of a heart attack. It was probably a result of cardiovascular disease complicating a pre-existing condition called Marfan syndrome. Marfan sysndrome would have made his aorta more suseptable to a catostrophic bursting. In Euell's day it was not unusual to smoke cigarettes or to add high amounts of saturated fat (bacon grease, butter, egg yolks) to his wild foods. These risk factors combined with his hard life and lack of exercise in his later years (arthritis pain limited his movement) undoubtedly contributed to his death.
