I have been fighting verdigo attacks since mar. of 2010 don't know when they are going to hit and it feels like you have no control over your body. It makes me go to the ground and I can't even lift my head I'm spinning out of control. Spells last about 15 to 20 min. and then I'm so tired I have to sleep some times 12 to 14 hrs. to feel back to par . Dr. has done so many tests. Had sinus and ear surgery and had a loop recorder in my chest for 2 years. I had not had any attacks for 7 months then all at once started having them again I've had 6 attacks in the last 2 months and I'm scared to do anything. If any one out there can help or knows what may be going send me a PM

Thanks Hilltop

I could also use a pm. Been having the exact same issues as hilltop. Doctors say I just have to deal with it. Any advice would be appreciated. I feel for you hilltop!

There are excercises you can do with your head, and there are specialists

You need to see an ENT (ear nose and throat) specialist to be diagnosed. Regular doctors that I have dealt with want to automatically diagnose BPPV which can be the cause but it can also be Meneires disease or even Vestibular Migraines. Drop me a note Nelson and I'll try and fill you in on what I know.

i was diagnosed with verdigo 4 years ago. It was really bad the first year. Never knew when a attack was going to happen. Never found the cause. I have not had an relaspe for approx 2 yr. My balance has never been the same though. I wish you luck in finding out the cause. It is not fun to deal with. Seems to happen at the most inopportune times.

I absulitley hate vertigo. You have no idea well maybe you do! But I got it a few years ago just woke up one morning during spring break I was in 6th grade? I'm now 16 but I woke up and was really dizzy and couldn't stand up or nothing I had no clue what was going on! Yelled at mom an she brought me to the Er and they told me what it was it took motion sickness pills And it eventually cleared up after a month or so. Haven't had it since. Knock on wood.

Life is hard, it's even harder if your stupid.

A member in my family started having vertigo problems. Dr's prescribed the usual medicines like meclizine but that done little if any good. A therapist come by one day for another issue and told them of a maneuver that she was trained to do that would help with the vertigo. The therapist called it the "Epley Maneuver". It helped some immediately and after 2-3 sessions it was gone. Vertigo came back a few months later so the same therapist was summoned. Again after 2-3 sessions it was gone or basically gone. I've seen this with my own eyes or I wouldn't believe it but if I ever experience vertigo I will certainly give it a go!

The statistics say 1 of every 4 persons are suffering from mental illness. Think of your 3 best friends, if they're OK then it's you!
