four 170 plus bucks have been shot on our hunting ground the past 5 years and im tryin to get one myself. last year my buck scored 135. does anyone use any deer attractants like cmere deer or something, have you had success with them? we have about 30 pear, oak, and apple trees planted. heres one of the bucks we got last year.

As far as minerals, go to a farm store and get a red mineral cattle block and a salt lick. If you want to spend more, I have had good success with the Trophy Rock.

On our land, we like to leave a sanctuary for the deer to bed. We hunt the fence lines and funnels going to this thick, impenetrable bedding area.

thanks! i was about to buy the cmere deer, good thing you told me that. we have been using buck jam, and the deer havin been devouring it! just thinkin there might be other good products

for me trophy rocks are awesome for getting trail cam pics early like spring till about now or mid august,then they go dead.I watch deer walk by em all the time during the hunting season.

I have had good luch by just setting all day along trails leading to feeding areas. Around noon it gets a little boring, but in the morning and evening it can be hot. I pack 2 lunches with plenty of snacks and water, and try to get as comfortable as possible.

I can't imagine how you eastern guys can sit all day in a tree or blind waiting for deer! You must freeze your butts off.

does in heat, and alfa alfa fields are the only things that will attract a big buck in your country, do your homework, read up on hunting books and do a lot of glassing before to30 minutes after sunrise and same for sunset and then just make notes on what hes doing and try to find a ambush spot.

We use a mix of distillers grain and cracked corn. In Nebraska, you have to have it more than 200 yards from where you're hunting, but it brings the does in during rifle season. I'm not a big bait hunter, but if it's your thing, more power to ya.

we have winter wheat that has always attracted them, milo has worked too.

haha for some reason i thought you were from SW MONTANA, disregaurd my advice until you travel west to hunt, from what ive noticed with the whitetail deer hunting them in the velvet is the best time for a big buck to pattern hard, still do your homework with trail cams and a few different stands for different wind, whatever you got going on on nov 8 and a few days before and after cancel it and hunt, it will be worth it

Can't shoot a great buck if you shoot a good one first.

Schipper beat me to it, best way to get a booner is to let a good buck become one.

I use Deer Cane in front of some cameras. I've always had decent luck with that. Early season I like to sit on trails from bedding to food. Later in the season I'll move closer to bedding areas.

We use lots of corn for getting trail cam pics, then its just a matter of waiting and PASSING on anything thats smaller then u want. For us we have a 170 Inch minimum unless we know for a fact that the deer is over 5 1/2 years from previous years pics, then it will becaome a shooter but usually only towards the end of the season

If you own a chainsaw, start cutting down trees and just leave them. I made a few clear cuts, were the cut downs would grow suckers (small shoots) off them. Cost is cheap, deer are browsers, not grazers. They also, like the security of the brushy cover. Killed a few for no more than a pint of mixed gas.

Scout, scout, scout. Then sit on the best results. You may have to wait a while, but it will pay off.
