I keep reading about using gallon glass jars to make bait in. My question is, is it ok to use gallon plastic containers like miricle whip ones to make egg or fish baits in. To let them sit in the sun and get ripe.Would appriciate any input on this.

You can, but I prefer glass for rendering and tainting baits. I may be wrong but I would think that the glass has a solar effect towards the contents. Around my house no glass or plastic jars or containers get thrown away. I froze a bunch of fish heads in potato salad containers last night.

Thanks. I have some beaver and muskrat I want to taint a little. I have a receipe for eggs and was curious if it would work as well for that.
