On another site, a gentleman asked about who to contact for a Halibut Charter.
I'd like to help him in his search.
I PM'd Hup but he must be busy
Any ideas from you people?
Thanks

Profishnsea out of Seward. Getting pretty late though. They're usually completely booked.

Key-O's guide service out of Deep Creek. Their client's fish have been averaging 30 - 60 pounds this year. Way better than the "average" for fish out of Homer. JMO! smile

My son is working for J-Dock. He just sent these pictures. They are having good luck every trip as long as weather is good. His name is Taylor and the captain he fishes with is Aaron. If they are not booked on the day you want to go, I would reccomend them. As a pair they really like to make their trips productive for their clients and aggressively work to that end. I would show you even better more productive trip pictures, but I don,t know if the folks in the pictures would mind.

What part of the state he going to? Tranquil Charters out of Kethikan, or AK Getaway out of Sitka would be good bets, I'm unfamiliar with any of the ones out of South Central. SE is very pretty.

For what it is worth.

My son is back now. He thoroughly enjoyed his work. They ended up catching a 235 lb Halibut as their largest.(he was deckhand)

He Said the people there were really great. He said they were rough and tough. Some of the best folks he ever met.He really liked the people he worked for and with.

Something that he said spoke volumes, was that they could leave their stuff out and nobody bothered it.

I sure understand your love for Alaska, why it is so special to you.
