"A Trappers Day"
Well another year has came and went,
Think of all the time we spent,
setting traps and diggin holes
To get that fur, we pay’d the toll.
In the rain, and in the snow,
we had the heart to wake up and go.
staying dry or getting wet,
we'd walk a mile to make a set.
in the water or in the ground,
theres nowhere to hide when a trappers around.
We catch em big, we catch em small,
But in the end we skin em all.
fox are up, coon are down,
beaver price will make you frown.
Stretchers full, traps are hung.
Trapping season’s finally done.
We prepare our fur for the sale,
And add up our lies to make a tale,
Of fighting fox and skunks that stink,
To 100lb beaver and 20lb mink!
It’s the life we love and were here to say,
“Nothings better then a trappers day”
