Bob I've got my visits to Los Anchorage down to a bare minimum as well. I wish we had headed your way this summer instead of the chum & humpy misfortune of the Nush. Headed out on a sheep hunt in an hr or so,sure to be wet & cold this time of year! Jim

Was the silver run on the Nush as weak as ours?

Bob, the silver run on the Nush has been fantastic. There are fish swimming around in the harbor again today smile

I guess NatGeo has a new AK survival show coming out, they had planned to have "Hardcore Huntress" Melissa Bachman on it. A petition to remove her because she's a "trophy hunter" was started, so they decided to axe her. I started a petition to keep her on because she is a good hunter.

Finally felt like I could handle a little solo fishing today. Trolled up a couple of feeder kings and managed to wear them out enough to get a net under 'em. Pretty awkward with the brace on but I figured it out. I didn't notice any discomfort at all during the fight...lol!

I went swimming in there once when I was younger and dumber. The teens that grew up here swim there quite a bit. The ice and snow didn't melt off until early July this year so I have a feeling it is a little colder than usual... No Thanks! Already a hint of fall here. The fireweed has topped out and some of it is starting to turn. Alder leaves are starting to curl too... Summer... we hardly knew ye!

Yeah, Happy Birthday! I'm not going goat hunting until the snot grass has the consistency of K-Y and the banana peels rule the slopes!

Christmas came early this year. I got these from a guy on here from WY for a fair price, he is going to buy himself some MBs for trapping wolves this year.

The green is starting to turn here and the swans are on there training flights for the young. In the second photo a mid air had just occurred with flying feathers but don't know if it was inexperience or just play. I'm not so sure we had a summer. It might of been the six days I was in Los Anchorage.

Bob those both look like mature birds to me if they are tundra swans. Immature ones are quite grey still in early sept. I know nothing about trumpeters though. We saw some adult tundra swans this weekend flying around almost appeared as they were doing the mating ritual which i found odd.
