What's wrong with using Pronghorn Antelope scraps, for bait? It has a sage twang smell to it, and I'm curious if it works well for coyotes and such

NOTHING
In most states it's illegal to use game animals or fish

yotes will feed on Antelope just like deer.

the sage want matter . during my research i learned that wolves was highly attracted to white sage (which grows wild in new mexico and a pain to grind to powder lol ) when mixed with urine or added to lure bases . now the problem when mixed with urine it drys out fast ,now wnem mixed with glands or a food base lure works real nice but a little goes a long way as the gal bag i have when i open it the whole house smells stroung of white sage

Thanks. The sage is very strong. The wife and I hunt pronghorns on occassion and using the scraps is something that appeals to me. Would the pronghorn be considered using a game animal, if I used it in my home State of Alabama? Knowing the gestapo we call Fish & Game, it would be an offense, even though they are not native.

it depends on if they use the state law that it comes from as a example in wyo it's ilegal and if they goe by the receptical laws then yes it would be ilegal to do so but if not then no it's not ilegal to use here but what i would do or i can do for you is call my buddy which is a trapper and a game warden in my area and see but again they are brain dead as i had a size limit question on a small lake here and one warden said there was one on crappie ,one did not know and the other said there was not one. so i think your best bet is call montgomery and check there first and get them to send the info in writting.

I'm not sure what you fellas in Minnesota have for game wardens, but my many years of experience in Alabama, tell me we must have the most backwards game wardens and game management system in the whole US of A. A monkey could have designed a better system than we have.

Maybe I should have titled this thread as "Goat for bait" LOL We'll call them speed goats, and use our sage smelling, speed goat scraps for bait.
