Made it back from the final trip of the spring on a sled anyway. The Skidoo let me down. The ol faithful Polaris was off the bench. Not sure what happened. Ran across the river and back empty to check ice conditions and backed up to the trailer to hook up to the sled. And it wouldnt do anything, checked fuses, keys, batteries, connections everything and anything to no avail. Back to town, picked up the Polaris and back at it. Drug trusses and beams out in the rain, made to the cabin at 1am. Beautiful weather, 55 degrees. The snow and trail was leaving fast. Spent a few days messing around and figured I'd better skidattle. Picked up another huge burrel and floated down river to trail. Kinda glad I had the polaris. Ended up running alot of dry ground on the way out pulling a heavy sled which didn't help. Took 6 hours to come out 40 miles. Ended up leaving my wide sled and gear and my new burrel at Stan's. The Tanana opened up and didn't wanna risk the sled dragging me down. Did some mighty scary water skipping on the crossing. Had a great, safe and productive trapping season this year and am excited for next season. Thanks for all the help, compliments, criticisms from all the brothers and sisters on TM. Been great and now ITS BEAR SEASON! Good luck and be safe.
