I think it is funny no one has brought up holding power. I have had 8 two toe caches on hind feet of beaver with long chains and none missed. I do not plan on using them next year but I will certainly continue using them this year. The reason I do not plan on using them on beaver is I feel they will make excellent coyote traps. Now if a DLS was made in dogless version I would no longer have to try to figure out witch traps to buy.

They do hold better, they have a slight mechanical advantage in that department from what I have read and understand on the subject.
Dogless longsprings have been done by individuals who are into modifying traps...

I have been working on them also with the help of CCarey giving me a little guidance on making sure they can be rubber jawed. Hopping to work on them more come May when our beaver season ends. I would like to get some prototypes out people who manufacture traps then they can build in mass and I cold buy but we will see how that works.

Well,it is a #3 victor which comes in under the 5.75.The pan is actually a paws-i-trip which has a tension screw...
But,it actually says pan tension device, not screw, and on long springs and coils for that matter, bending the dog up or down actually increases or decreases the tension,so...

Soil type don't much to do with it, it's what one is comfortable with , both have there place and being coils are common and easiest to get that's puts longs on the out by not being common and not use by as many

As it is every year, the bill will be referred to the DEC. This way no one has to vote one way or another. Delay tactics..
