I need 8 more Aknative. I would have to double my best numbers on a check not once but twice.

Or you could get after some beaver and maybe put them around the perimeter. Aren't they open through April there?

I'm curious about sending them to get tagged. Where are you sending them? I thought F&G or a tropper would come to you.
If there are several trappers around you and all need tags, one of you could be a tagger for F&G.

I asked them about that MT and I was informed that there was no class to become a sealer for furbearers. I send my furs to Cordova, I fill out the temporary sealing paperwork from the F&G website and send that along with them. Actually I have never personally been there when my furs were sealed, I have always been remote.

I am a sealer for F&G in Nome. I got that because I was, or am, a furbuyer and was receiving furs needing tagging from trappers. No "class" involved. The lady here just gave me the stuff. I get paid for doing it even...........25 cents a fur I think. F&G sends me the stuff in the mail each year. I turn in the forms to the office here.
I assume your paying to send your furs in to get tagged. Also seems risky to send frozen with risk of spoilage. I think your being taken advantage of by a lazy F&G office. No reason you or a neighbor can't be a sealer. Or, if several of you are needing sealing services, a trooper or F&G rep should come to you.
This season is over or almost over. I would suggest looking deeper in to this. Most all villages have designated sealers.

Pulled the last of my sets yesterday. Ran into some unfortunate circumstances so my season is over. Ended up with 17 otter, I thought I had only caught 15 but there are 17 in my freezer. smile I am not complaining! This has been my best season to date and I owe a lot of it to everyone here. Without the advice I doubt I would have done so well. Thanks!
