How many times can they be opened and closed before you should change them?

I'm not sure JM...but have opened mine several times. BUT am changing that this year and welding everything ALL the way out on account of the wolves. A pain in the butt...and will have to cut the last one but ...Oh well!!

If it's for K-9s, I only use them 1 time then they go in the bin for coons and if they get opened again, they go in the bin for rats and mink. Not saying it's right or wrong, but I feel better knowing I have top notch stuff on my rig.

I connected the j hook on my dbbl stake swivels to a single link of chain. Then connect/disconnect with a quick link . this way you don't have to open the j hook when you change the trap.

Thanks everyone I have been using them on my beaver sets I use a 6 foot long cable sake at the end of 10 feet of chain so I can drive in the Berkshire or wrap around a tree. It has been working well this year seems fast and I was thinking of putting them on my cable extensions for snaring.
