I was able to get a few sets out this past weekend. The first check on the main line will be on saturday. I found a hole near the hatchery that I thought might be used by otters, so I put a 280 in front of it and this morning I had a porcupine. Doh! At least I caught something. I will try and get pics uploaded of the main line this weekend.

Went out and checked the few traps I had set today. Pulled up to the first spot which has a wolverine bucket and 2 marten sets. The first marten set had a marten in it. The wolverine set is sprung, looks like either a marten or an ermine tripped it. At the second marten set, the trap was hanging but still set. The bait was gone. I think a marten climbed onto the spring of the 120 from above to get a better look and pushed the trap loose.

Marten from the first stop.

I head over to the second spot and this is the first thing I see as soon as I get out of the boat.

SWEET!!!! Gulo tracks!! Here is a shot with my mitten for a size comparison.

I head over to where we have our wolverine bucket and this is what I see.

Got one!!! A pretty good sized female. The 330 got her right behind the head and the set location wasn't destroyed at all. I am sold on the buckets.

Thanks to all the people on here who share their techniques, definitely helped me out!!!! Not bad for the first check of the year, only had 6 sets out.

This lazy sea otter was lounging around when I got back this afternoon.

Another shot of the gulo.

Very cool. Careful on that wolverine. Taxidermy quality will make you some extra $$. Save the skull also. Take measurements if you want to market for Taxidermy. But then again you might want to keep your first.

I definitely want to keep it, just not sure what I want to do with it yet.

If your going to tan be sure to turn the ears at a minimum. Turn the Lips and peel the nose as far as you can. Skin all the cartilage out of it. Anyplace the tan can not get to it will be hard. Use that as your motivation. Ears are a must. Take them inside out.

Way to go! First wolverine is better than your first kiss. You'll never forget it. That marten looks furred up!

AV, the fur on the marten is nice and thick. I was pleasantly surprised. If I get enough marten this year I am going to consider getting the gulo full body mounted. smile
