I have just finished up welding on some tops on some FREE rebar that a neighbor give me. I got 100 18 inch stakes and I am worried that they are not long enough to hold foxes in clay and sandy soil. There are also coyotes in the area as well. Do you think that I should double stake them or what?

Definitely cross-stake with 18's. I'm using single 24's. But I guess I'm wagering a trap & a stake that a 'yote can't pull one out. Don't know how safe that bet is. Don't know what odds Vegas has on it.

Double stake and avoid high sandy areas.

Yeah but its only the first few inches that are tough to pull, then its easy.

You might try a few with drags attached in the sandiest of soil types in your area just to see if they loosen em up any. That way you are still good... and have learned a lesson safely.
