Pulled everything except for some otter sets yesterday. Managed to pick up 2 more marten. The last marten we caught before these two was on Jan 7th. All my otter sets were buried under 2ft of snow, they went right over the top of them.

AT- Yeah I will keep after them until I start getting singed ones.

Ran the few sets I have out and spotted this as I pulled up to the first spot

Pulled it up out of the snow and found a good sized otter.

Real nice fur on this one, they are nice when they are dry.

This is the set I got it in.

The snow is now over the top of my fencing, so I just made a trench where the trap is at and reset it back. There was another otter that came through after this one was caught and it checked everything out. I got a few more traps out today and I am planning on getting some more out tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I know I caught some heat earlier about my wolverine take on the line but it was in line with what has been taken in the past in the same area. Including our 4 there has been 23 wolverines taken off the area I am running in the past 6 seasons that it has been trapped (non consecutive). The high has been 5 with a low of 2, and my boss never got more than 4 in a season. I have kept a close eye on the sign I have been seeing and I am confident that there are plenty more around.

My days off have been switched to tuesday/saturday so I ran the line today. Picked up 2 more otter so it was a pretty good day. Also got a few more sets out. I was pretty surprised as we got about a foot of fresh powder last night. They must have been moving hard with the incoming storm. Was an absolute beautiful day to be on the water, reminded me why I love living up here. I will upload some pics a bit later.

The first spot I checked-

Right behind the head, just how I like it. This makes #5 from this spot so I pulled the traps.

Group shot-

Both are good sized males. My male to female ratio is 9:1. Does that seem normal to you guys?

Here is a better angle of the first one after I put it on a nearby log.

4 TM. I am splitting the furs with my partner. I haven't decided what I am going to do with mine yet. I know for sure the otters are going to get tanned.

Just got back from running the sets. Picked up 2 more otter and had a third that went right over the top of one of the 330's. Dang snow. The tides have been fairly big lately and the high water took out a couple of my sets. It also left one of the otters right out on the beach, I am pretty surprised it didn't get chewed on by eagles.

Here is a view of the first spot. This set was a blind set under the branches that the 330 is cabled off to. The otters had made a toilet in the snow so I fenced it off and stuck the 330 there.

This is the view of the 330 that was nearby. You can see where the otter knocked snow off of the branch that I used to camouflage/fence the trap.

This is the second otter after I pulled it up out of the hole. They have been avoiding the 330 at this spot for a while so its nice to get one here.

The next check is tuesday.
