Just wondering how long each of you have been trapping.

second season by myself here, hope to trap the rest of my life !

been trapping with my dad since the day i was born. but this is my third solo season

3rd year, 4 if you count the year I was cacthing squirils with the box trap.

2.nd year hitting them hard all season. trapped a few coon and possum here and there around the barns before that.

2nd year

I'm a first year. As you can see i havent caught much.

Third or fourth year I can't remember for sure.

Ah, Prtty sure it's number eight. I've never trapped with another person, so I've learned everything for myself. It started out rough but I'm doing good now.

Ah same here I learned an awful lot of stuff right from this site.

2nd season but my dad ran a rat line during the early years of my life that I tagged along on.

been at it for 28 years, best times of my life were and are in the wild.

this is my third year. i hope to get back into sometime after college. when i should be thinking about scholarships and such i find myself thinking about how i can manage to skin animals in my dorm with no one noticing. i have a feeling it wouldn't last long

Been at it since 1959 (born in 1950)...had to take a few (20 plus) away for my military career. Been at it a lot since 1980.....everything from short lines to long lines. Water and land trapping. Watched a lot of changes come and go. Most of you younger and newer trappers have a lot going for you with the internet, videos, books, use them all and let your time on the line teach you what works best for you. Tom

5 yrs the more i do it the more i love it

Just finished up my 39th year about 10 with a trapping partener and the rest by myself .

This was my first year trapping but been hunting and fishin since i was really young. I had a blast this year and learned a lot, i'm already getting things ready for next year because this year i started off with hardly anything, cant wait!

your the same age as my dad he never did trap anything but mice tho.

1st year fishin since i was 3 hunting since 5

3-4 year of really trap'in for the money but i was trapping few years before that and hope to for the rest of my life. (getting a new trap'in/hunt'in partner) mid april a brittany spaniel pup.

Think its the 8th or 9th year for me.

i dont know how to put a form up but i have beagel puppies 4 sale in six weeks if anyone is interested there are 3 males and 4 femals akc reg good hunting stock 40 yrs of gen paper work and mother and father on permise two females are blk and white 2 males a choc and two females are tri colored .

2 season for me

2 years but have live trapped skunks for my neighbors for about 5 years

I have been trapping for 3 years, mostly just pocket gopher.

I've been Trapping for 3 years with my dad, but this is my first solo year

i have been at it for 5 year 1st year was with my dad showing me how to do basic sets and baits then 2 of them were with my long time friends and we trapped for 2 years together and then the next two years they stard do get out of it and i went solo for the next 2 years and this year we are all going out as a team. so this will be my 6th year and many more to come.

1st year, didn't do very good because i've never had anyone to show me how to or what to do, but you guys on here have really helped me a lot, hope to catch a bunch more next year.

this will be my second season alone but i tagged along with my uncle with his coyote lines. he usually catches over a hundred. he only traps from the first day till about mid december cause he says that the prices start going down then so he will save them till they are worth more next year

just starting solo

1st not goin to good. All I've got is a dozen snares.

Been with my dad since I can remember. This is the first season that we have made sets that I picked out on my own. Dad helps me make the sets and is teaching me as we go.

7 years trapping! All solo no one tAught me. Catch 50 plus coon 200 plus rats 30 plus fox.

2nd year and not even getting started! Plan to hit em hard for many years to come! Walking up to a trap and seeing fur is a huge adrenaline rush!

I have been trapping since mid july last year and it is my passion that i do as much as i can, I love it!

Third year, neither my Dad or my Grandfather trapped but I got all of my Great Grandfather old victors, although there weren't very many I had enough to try to teach myself how to set and learned the rest from the animals

Almost 3 months

4 years..... have had nobody teach me

Will start my third season in Fall of 2013. Learning solo so any tips would be greatly appreciated!
