i've never really trapped weasles on purpose...in fact...the last one i caught was in a 110 wayyyy back in 1988 in a trail that i thought was a mink......

i've read that weasles thrive in wetland grassy areas............i have found such a spot........but it seems featureless really....no brush piles, stone walls.....etc........so were would i set a weasel box in this particular situation?

Well, i'm not expert by any means, but in a culvert leading the the wetland area if possible and if you have snow look for sign and set on it

I am no expert either but I have been having luck in heavy swamp grass areas with either water or slash piles. I also caught one in a culvert.

Yes go to the culverts and pretty much any culvert that goes under the road but make sure there is heavy cover leading out of it

foxkidd this is just what I would do
walk a straight line across your spot there put a box every 100 yards put out multiple boxes
in a week if you haven't got one find a new spot and pull them

If its featureless it probably does not have many edges

there is a chisel plowed field on the outside edge............and i'll try to check to see if there is a culvert coming out..............i was out walking around it this morning and discoverd that there is a small bit of water that trickles out from a seep in the ground thats probably 2 feet wide and maybe a foot deep or so.it resembles a small ditch...it runs for approx 1/8 of a mile or so...then it gets wider....turns and empties into a smaller creek about a 1/2 mile off...........would it be productive to set weasel boxes by this small watercourse?

it was almost invisible thats why i never even knew it was there....it's hid quite well under the tall grass.

Road bank is an edge, water course is an edge, tilled field is an edge, etc.
