There is such a thing and there two individuals that sell a coon gland lure including myself that I know of for sure. There may well be others.

Caroll Black "Blackies Blend" also produces a coon gland lure called Boars Delight.

Interesting, I guess I hadn't given it much thought, most of what you see is food or maybe curiosity type lures.

What have you all see as far as effectivness of a coon gland lure? When would you use such a lure? set? time of year? location? ... as opposed to another type lure or just bait... ???

fuller laugeman was sposed to have one at one time, blacky, marsyada, prarie wind lures out of kansas, stan hawbaker gave a formula for one, and an old feller out of nebraska gave A formula for one as well, nick wyshinski gave out the info of raccoon urine and galls mixed togather.

I used to use the boar's delight a few years ago later in the season in dirthole sets in picked corn fields. It worked OK but then so have probably 95% of the coon lures I've tried in dirtholes so I guess that doesn't really prove they are any better than a food lure. But it did catch coon.

this is somthing that i will use later in the season when getting coons gets harder when kansas turns into a nightmare of cold weather. it seams to bring out the real big coons later in the year beiging of the season for a few months i use just food type lures untill the bad weather rolls in

the gland lure i would use (and do use)is from praire winds lures for the rest of it i make my own food type lure i use untill the season turns crappy.this year i will be messing with procoon and fish oil mix never have tried it before so we will see on that one.
