Everything was hauled in on sleds and airplane. The river is to skinny for boats. I just got under the sleds and pushed them up after unloading the heavys. The water is only about 2 feet deep in this part of the river. Scary though. It usually drops out the first trip out and then it's good the rest of the season. This one caught me off guard. This is why we travel slow and careful. I still catch my self sight seeing, it is beautiful country.

Man, the coyotes are bad this year. Need to get them thinned for sure.

Glad you are safe and sound back out!

Made it back from the Beautiful Alaska Range this evening. Had a great trip on the line even without any wolves hanging. Spent Christmas evening skinning and stretching marten. Picked up 13 marten and 2 lynx. Got some work on the cabin done and a few more sets out. Put a wolverine milk crate cubby out at the end of my line last nite and couldn't remember if I'd taken the safeties off. Looked at the pics of the set on my camera and... Nope. Gotta love technology. Went up there first thing this morn and picked up a nice female lynx along the way in a cubby. Flipped the safeties off and hurrying back down the trail, I clipped a rock and bent my left trailing arm on the WT. A first for me and don't wanna do this again. Cannot seem to find a wolf kill around my line. They gotta be eating something. Seen a few moose, picked up a shed antler and run into a mess of Russian moose hunters. Six hunters with six moose and not a decent snowmachine or sled amongst them. I ran into them again on Christmas day in ol Stan "The Mule Man's" cabin. They said they couldn't get across the Tanana River. It was just overflow. I ran the WT across empty then came back for the sled. They didn't have such good luck or maybe they just weren't geared up and prepared. Some people just shouldn't leave the safety of street light and asphalt. Came back across this evening and the overflow was froze up solid. A happy trapper crossed the Tanana.

Looks like a good run! Hope you catch up with some of those wolves. Must be expecting company out there with those new bunks. Maybe hosting some moose hunters? smile

I got that 9 set out with 1/2 dozen 750s and a bunch of snares, hoping to connect with some wolves.

Decoy, Airplanes, they've been migrating over here for years. These ones live in Wasilla.
