All depends on what species you want to formulate the lure for. There are currently about 80 essential oils and ingredients available for lure making on the commercial market - quite a wad to narrow down to only five!

If I were to pick five essential oils that I sell the most of, it would go something like this.... asafoetida, tonquin, valarian, white musk and ambrette.

This is only essential oils. Of all other ingredients, other than glycerine and glycol, beaver castor and muskrat musk would be surely be the top two.
