Very clear distinctive markings on that one Hank, very nice. Do you think it is that same wolverine went to the other sets ?

I am not sure Ron. I don't think so because the tracks at the furthest north set have pretty much always gone north after checking it out. I actually have tracks headed both north from the furthest point and south from the closest spot. I honestly think that there is a good number of them in the area, my boss took a walk on the lake a few days ago and he found tracks all over the back of it. I am suffering from a gulo infestation!!!

A couple of years ago my trapping partner had a couple of deer heads stolen out of his shed that sits about 20ft behind his house. Ended up catching 2 wolverines right nearby.

Thats great, I can't wait to catch one of them. I'm still waiting for my wolverine to travel through again.

Be patient! That is the best advice I can give. It was pretty much 2 months between #2 and #3, and that was with them walking by all the time. You never know what is going to convince them to go for it. Stick with it and you will get em!

I thought to myself on the way back to the hatchery that you would like seeing the journal today. With as much movement as I am seeing I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up another one pretty quick. Even my boss who ran the area before me said he has seen a lot of tracks.

Great job on #3, you guys got some pretty wolverine down there. I thought overflow was scary, those tidal flat look like a serious water hazard to say the least.

They can be, depends on the tide. Today it was incoming so it wasn't bad. If it gets up too high it really makes it hard to check a few of the sets. I have been pretty luck so far, had a couple of close calls where the wind was strong enough to drag the anchor after I indian anchored and the skiff was up on the rocks when I got back to it. Luckily I was able to shimmy the skiff back to floating by myself, but it wasn't easy. I would rather deal with the tide flats than overflow, that stuff can be scary.

Ran the line today and it was pretty uneventful. Had a wolverine check out one of our buckets but it wouldn't commit. If we ever get our mail I will be able to make some snares and throw these gulos some curveballs.

After checking traps we decided to explore the sound. Went cruising around and I saw something strange on the beach. When we got closer this is what we saw-

It wasn't huge and I never got a good enough look at it to determine billy/nanny.
