Coloradocat, do you cover the bottom of your cage traps with dirt
or do bobcats enter the trap with the bottom uncovered?

weasel, I do cover the bottom wire. I dont believe and cat would enter one without the floor being covered. As far as where I get these cat cages. I make most of mine, but Yancys have a really great cage.

Most of my cages are 10 and 12" wide. I feel that height is more important than width. That being said, mine are 20" tall. Yancy can be found on here, but wouldnt look for him for a bit as he is trapping. Escape, I just cover, my bottoms, brush them up a bit, and make sure your right ontop of cats with a cage. Bait and lure how ya like. And just remember that not all cats will go in them all the time. You will have refusesals. But then one day he will just zip right in there. I had 12 cats in one day refuse cages. Then the next day caught 2. Its weird, but something you have to accept with cages. Will see if I have a photo of a set. Hope it helps.

Heres a remake next to a rock pile. Nothing to fancy, just make sure he can only get to the cage from the front.

Cool Pics !!!! That is a dream of mine I hope to make come true some day. LOL

One question...how do ya ever get a noose on those cats in a cage? Seems they would be a ball of fire when that door opened.

cages look mighty interesting.I was successfull in being drawn for a cat tag here in pa.a month ago I had one by the toes,I was overly anxious and excited when I approached to fast it leaped and pulled out of the trap.
since than its been warm and no snow so the cats haven't been cooperating.maybe I might be more successfull with a cage.its worth trying.

il. trapper, dont ever lift a door on a cat, laughs. I just stick the pole through the bars on the door. Ease the noose around and gently close it. If ya try and close to fast he will duck it. Alan, I wanted a Dunn knfe so bad after our rendevous. So I begged and pleaded enough I guess the wife got tired of listening to me. Now Im wondering if its to nice to skin with, lol.
