I had some victors #1's that had a spring added and they set fine until I waxed them and then a couple wanted to slip. I just scraped off the wax in that area and soaked in some water they after that spot rusted they held were they should.

That's why I love this site. The few I'm having the trouble with are actually dukes. A file on that notch...there shall be. Thanks for the help from Michigan, good sir. [/quote]

You are welcome. I use the little (needle files) and they work good for these small areas.

First year using double long springs and I'm quickly growing to prefer them! Picked up these off Craigslist. They looked like rusty junk when I got them but cleaned up nice! I put a Miles Trigger on them and it worked great, but after a catch it can get a little goofed up... I was one of the people that tried to save money and not use PIT pans but looks like I'll be joining the club and putting PIT pans on my 2x longs next season.

#4 Blake and Lamb

#3 Victor

I have used large double longs for beaver and snow canines and #11s for coon and like them. Never used them for canines in dirt until this year. Shouldn't have waited so long! Sleepy Creek #3 offset - stock except for a shock spring.

I feel connected with history setting longsprings.

#2 DLS on my pocket sets have been my best producer on muskrats this year.! Rat populations way down here.

I find the DLS easier to set then the coil springs for me. I run all victor #3 offsets, I have a question will a 11 DLS hold a coyote if he gets in it? I was thinking about using them for foxes but, coyotes dont know to stay out of them.

I seem to recall an article a few years ago about a fella who was ADC trapping "suburban" coyotes using #11s. Those little buggers lock up tight, so they would probably hold with proper staking and such, but he better hit the pan dead center!

I have issues with Sleepy creek long springs. The first time i set one of my number threes i dissembled it. Anybody else have this issue. I fixed the problem just wondering of anyone else had the same issue.

Love my Victor and Blake and Lamb longsprings whether single or double. They are my all time favorite traps-still own many hundreds of them.

We have to use rubber jaw here so I added these and welded the base plates so maybe won't have trouble with coming apart.
