I like the sleepys thats what mine is above its a sleepy #4 offset fully modded. I like the pan system on them alot since i put on heavy pans i can tighten the tention bolt where i like it and then put a drop of saulder in the nut and on the bolt side of the nut so it never backs off and keeps tention just right catch after catch. I wish you guys didnt have to run rubber over there tncat some day you should make the road trip and run line with me for a couple of days.

For those who run Sleepy Creek #3's and #4's, are the #3's easier to set than the #4's?

Love those big pans, Red. I had put my Bridgers in the closet but I think I'm gonna dig'em out and do a little modding.

They do make a trap setter that gerald schmitt sells that locks for longspring I use it when modding traps.. to keep the set.
For those that are getting up there or have weaker hands and when you get caught they are nice to use if you don't leave in the truck crazy

Yes ....I had some that fit #2 Bridgers ...reformed the metal . The pads where to short, I keep rolls of J C's pads I had to use.
I have some # 3 Victors DLS also with pads. Now my brother has been saving scrap metal and cutting my metal strips at his work place for me.

A Bridger #4 for ya. Ordered a dozen from MTP & they added the 3/16 offset & lamination for $23. I got them toward the end of the season last year, added the shock spring, name tag, ran them through the dishwasher, splashed them with F1 & put some in the dirt. Got 2 yotes, 1 red, 1 grey, 1 opossum & 1 skunk. I am pleased with them. The first yote was held by 2 toes & removed the trap pan. The pans could be better & I will swap them out eventually. I also added center locators to most before I dipped them this year.

The pit pan recommended for most #4ls did not fit, had to grind on the frame on the one I installed. I happen to have one for a #5 & looks like it will work just fine.

Bridger #4 I MODIFIED with baseplate and D ring and PIT pan

I think I actually put the stock pan back on the #3 I know the PIT didnt work too well on one of them

Why can't trap manufacturers be honest about jaw spreads?

Sleepy Creek #3 offset DLS...suppose to have a 6 inch jaw spread. Whether inside or outside, it doesn't meet what is claimed.

Also got a Bridger #4, same thing, but the picture wouldn't load.

Measure inside of jaw lever to lever sides I have noticed that some traps will measure out that way. But you are certainly right.

And the offsets are sposed to be bigger too.
Inside is 5 3/8 out side 5 7/8 ? On those 3s ?

Yep. The 5 7/8 is generous, its more like 5 13/16.
