This bank hole set i am about to show how to construct will take coon, mink, and muskrats. Its made to be set with a 110 conibar or a 1.5 coil spring trap or long spring your choice. The first pic shows the location where i chose to build it.

The second pic shows where i have taken my boot and stamped out a small channel into the bank. The channel needs to be deeper than the surrounding bank. For constuction of the roof.

The 3rd pic shows the sticks layed across the top to construct the roof. With a good roof this set will last most all season or 2. The roof is constucted from sticks found along the bank and broken to the width of you channel. Making sure to lay them side by side. Sorry about the pic being a little blurry.

The 4th pic shows the clay mud used to top the roof of the set. The clay ads some eye apeal to the set when scratched to mimic the signs a coon or mink would do. Put it on thick. This will add to the strengh of the hole.

The 5th pic shows how the 110 is set at the entrance using a coni holder. This particular holder was made by a friend of mine KR did and excellent job with the holder they work great.

The 6th pic shows some added camoflage to the trap and set. This makes it more inviting for the mink and muskrats to check it out.

The 7th pic shows where i have added a victor 1.5 in the mouth of the hole instead of the coni. For those of us that use the footholds.

The 8th and final pic show's the finished set along the bank of the little stream. Like i said before this set will connect on coon mink and muskrats.

I hope this gives the new guys a guide to setting bank sets there are other ways of doing them this is mine. Thanks for looking
DH

nice job that is awesome for those of us that are just starting out. One question... this may be a stupid question, but do you need to cover up the coilspring them with anything so it blends into the bottom or do you just leave it like that?

Thanks, CoonD

Just use the material around it use some water logged leaves if available, or use whats on the bottom if its silt or sand just take your time to cover it
