looks like a small dog dropping with hair in them ussally but early fall there will be seeds from berries. ztbowtech a 18 inch stake will hold fox usaly, however i dont sugest useing 18 inches of rebar because if you get alot of thawing freezing conditions or rain, the ground is gonna be a mess, if you happen to get a yote well a 18 piece of rebar dont stand a change with a yote. im going with hd berkshire cable stakes this yr 15 inches of cable.

The image has been cropped, it makes it appear larger than it really is.

I am new to this and have been learning a lot from this forum. I have seen that all of these setups are using coilsprings, would longsprings be just as effective? I just purchased some #3 and #2 longsprings and was now second guessing myself.

Dirt hole set with a anywhere from a 1.5 Duke to a MB-550 has caught greys this year for us. LDC lure with some beaver fat/membrane that is removed from fleshing beavers for bait. You need plenty of guiding for greys!

Well I have to speak my mind, I love the pics of kids and there catchs. To hide them from the dark side is to hide all together.I never been one to hide from anything or anyone. I hold my head up high when it comes to my Family and my sport\hobbies.Why join a site dedicated to trapping then hide the great pictures and stories from the rest who enjoy the same. I dont know maybe im different then most but that's the way I feel.

heres my "go-too" set for fox

not a great way to show it but it gives and idea...and this is just a sloppy one by the way..

burn a stick(try to burn longer then this one here) and dig out where youll bed your trap and lay peat moss down in the trap bed then lay trap...

after this lay your wax paper on the trap.. cover your trap and put lure and urine on the burn log...and your set is good as gold...this is a sloppy one but it did produce a red, also try to use a sifter so the snow isnt so broken up and looks more natural..

come back the next day to one of these

make a few more sets like this one and check a few days later for a few of these!!

all taken off this set...hope it helps any
