Ive only been trapping for a couple years but have studied alot of things and also tried many things and of all of different things ive tried here are a couple sets that ive had success with for fox both red and greys.

And with alittle luck you might catch a couple of these.

90% of my sets look like one of these.only change it up when I feel I'm getting more refusals than normal. The bottom set accounted for 5 greys in six nights last fall!

I don't get very fancy with fox (or anything else for that matter) put something good down a hole (or on a bone, skull, rock, whatever)with a shot of urine, use a good backing, bed a trap in front and get on to the next location. Locations seems to get better after a fox is caught. I prefer #1.5 sized traps when setting for fox but have a lot of areas where the coyotes and fox overlap and have done fine using #2 bridgers. I prefer my #2s to have pad kits or laminations but that is definately a personal preference.

Here are some pics of some pretty reds

And one of my favorite fox pictures of all time with my son.

Snaring can be effective as well

I always set at least two traps. It is fun when you roll up on a double.

Don't know that I qualify as a "fox guy" smile But I catch a high percentage of my fox in coyote sets. Many of which are made with coyote urine.
