I remember that incident, or another one like it over in the Buffalo/Sheriden area. But I was under the impression that he had skinned the cat earlier in the day and died that night.

I really have no idea how long the incubation period is.

Ive never cared about fleas before, use a little soap and they are gone. But with a scare like that,Its realy worth spraying down with something before going into an attic isnt it.

The shot doesn't hurt any more than any other shot.....except from a rifle.

I'd say that the odds are really long against getting Black Plague.

I thought she explained that he thought the animal was dumb or easy to take, I could be wrong, meaning it was sick, maybe they tested the cat? I am not sure how long it took, I heard he was having a beer or two with his buddies, told them he thought he was coming down with the flu,his wife woke up next to him next morning, he was dead. I should probably quit healing the coyotes and just shoot them, to lessen the chance of a flea jumping on me. I have seen a couple prairie dog towns empty in the area I used to trap, I don't think they were poisoned. T.20

The onset of plague is 2-6 days and you can hang on another 3-4 after becoming sick.

The vaccines are no longer commercially available in the US.

As earlier stated, prompt treatment with antibiotics is essential.
