36 degrees will be real cold with a stiff wind and one soakin' wet....under those conditions it would be cold enough to kill you! Don't be fooled by that. Hypothermia is extremely deadly....Isn't that right Mr. Jameson? Hopfully your vehicle was close by. \:\)

I can speak from experience that I was swimming and holding on in 39-41 degree water for about 4 hours and it was about as long as I physically could tolerate without losing total strength, mental alert capacity, and then ultimate consciousness ultimately resulting in death no doubt.

I cant describe the trauma that I had on that early fateful morning in the ocean bay. I do hope no one I know has to feel that as I did and live to talk about it.Those temps are certainly no childs play. Accidents happen just that quickly. I am glad you escaped without anything more then a chilling dip and a breathless moment or two. NO one can describe that total emersion over your head into water temps like that.

I have done the upside down swim in among the ice chunks too.

Nothing like Newt and you did though.

It IS impossible to explain that feeling to someone who has never gone in though. I was only wet for a little under a half hour and in the water for maybe 30 seconds. (feels like a year)

My friend Ryan went down all of the way in current and popped uo out of a hole about 50 yards downstream. Took about 15 seconds before he was out of the water.

That was you with Newt, right?

Bob , I heard the tale from Newt.

Glad to see you posting about it , the story Newt told was quite the ordeal.

Amazing survival , glad you all made it.

Yea, when you are all tired of kicking and fighting, what else is there to do? Accept it and make peace with our maker.

Doing a mouse job in an attic...when the home owner comes out and says to me, (as I'm climbing up the ladder) "I hope you get some...I wants to see dem lil' boogers". Making sure she got her wish , I reached the first trap,( a Katch-All) which held two dead mice....so I opened the door and dumped them out....down to the garage floor....didn't think much about it really.

A few minutes went by, as I'm checking the other traps and the lady says, "Did you get any"? To which I yell down," Sure didn't you see them? "No" she says, "Where is 'dey"?...I point down and say,"They're right there at your feet"!
You have never heard a woman scream that load in all your life!

She didn't want to see the others I had caught....... \:D

Came home last night about 6:30, walked in to find glass vases broken, flower pots over turned, pictures knocked off the coffee table, a small chair over turned, lamps knocked over,(one broken) window drapes pulled down and blood spots all over the tile flooring and a number of other places.........First thing I do, check all doors and windows...all secure! Then I go looking for whatever is in the house!

Turns out a female Fox squirrel got trapped in the chimney and came through the damper,(or where the damper should be) into the house and did about $300. worth of damage before I spotted it... then I spotted it a second time but this time with a RED DOT on the .177 ! Who said Fox squirrels don't get into houses....(be the last time that one ever does)! ;\)

AND: What would you be thinking about a customer who allowed a squirrel to come "---through the damper,(or where the damper should be) into the house---" What would be your advice to the customer??? \:D \:D

Why do I have moles and armadillos in my yard every year???

Well I bought an old farm house (1890's) and there is no damper. I had it blocked off...with 6" styrofome (to prevent drafting/loosing heat). Worked pretty well 'till that squirrel chewed through it too. Gotta go....the timer bell just went off. Guess who's comin' to dinner.....Ha! \:\)

A) the squirrel, of course!
