Now I'd like to know how you got that otter to sit still long enough for the picture. When I walk up on them they're always bobbing up and down and bouncing left and right. Tell us the story behind that catch.

I have sold 20 otter locally for about a $94 average. Which would be equivelent to around a $105 average at NAFA. Sure it isn't $150, but it ain't worthless either. You just have to work a bit harder to find markets rather than just having the easy option of sendind it all to NAFA.

1 guess everyone has gotten spoiled. I can remember when people wouldhave been happy with $50.00. I don't see anyone complaining about $16-20 dollar reds. I remember when they were 70-75. LOL times change and short term memory comes with it.

Nope, nobody can really complain if they get 80 or better. But, less than 60 might be grounds for unhappiness in my mind. I don't think that we are quite there yet. Sure I know those $40 otters too, but you have to realize that with inflation and fuel prices there is a lot more into these otters now days.

You didn't mention the reds. I have caught 200 of those in a year. Be hard pressed to catch that many otters in 5 years.

Haha. I would be screaming about reds for less than $20. I will average over $35 on my fox this year pretty much guaranteed. Probably over $40. So no, I am not complaining about that. lol.

But then I'm not in AK. lol I'm not complaining about anything, but I really don't think there is anything major to complain about. The futurem is brighter than it has been overall price wise.

Not unless you are trying to sell to either a sewer/crafts person or just to somebody who wants to hang it on their wall. Not bad markets, and they usually pay pretty good; but VERY limited.
