Who here thinks it is worth looping triggers on 110's, and what do you use?

I like to set shortcuts on land across points along creeks. 120 Belisle Mags are the trap of choice. Blind sets along the waters edge are second and pocket set my third choice. Both the blinds and pocket sets are mixed with 1 1/2 Coils and 110's or 120's.

Ok, here's my tip: you always hear how mink hug the structure, and it's true, but it's not always true. There is a fine dry trail to the right of this pic up against the bridge wall, but they seem to come up the center of the creek more often. There is a nice pool on the other side with minnows in it and I suspect they know that.

This pipe hooks into a drain tile and is good for muskrats and a mink every year.

Had a mink munch on a rat I caught there so I put it in a newspaper box. Two days later, there he was.

Minks is funner to say tho. lol. Here's a tip guys. I build boxes out of cut up pallets. No bottom. About 16-18 inches long. 1.5 coilspring at each end. Set in shallow water with half a rat carcass wired in the middle. The boxes look rustic an weathered and are almost free to make so I dont worry when they get broken or washed away. Try it.

when i trap muskrat and mink in creeks i find all the pinch points and set a 110 or 120.Every mink and rat has to go through that area to get down the creek. I also like to do bottom edge sets for mink works very well.

if i had to pick a set it would have to be a pocket set.

i've caught alot of mink using them.

2nd would be a trench set on a high bank trail.....it takes a lil more time to construct..but well worth it.
